Funds raised from this event will help single parents and their children by helping provide baby supplies, household items, mentorship, support groups, virtual tutoring for students, financial literacy, homeownership and workforce development.
“Unfortunately, single mothers in the United States are more likely to experience job displacement, poor academic attainment, live in poverty and have episodic or chronic depression,” says Jennifer Graham, executive director of Shelter From the Rain. “It is critical that the community work together to support families in their journey to achieve economic mobility. Through these types of charitable events, we are able to expand our services and reach more parents in need of a network of support.”
