Junior League of Savannah to Host Duck Pluck and Touch-a-Truck Event on Saturday, April 9

Two Popular JLS Events Will Be Combined This Year for a Day Full of Excitement and Prizes

SAVANNAH, GA (March 10, 2022) — The Junior League of Savannah is proud to combine its popular Duck Pluck and Touch-a-Truck events for a day full of fun and prizes on Saturday, April 9 from 10 a.m.–2 p.m. The combined event will be held outside at Oglethorpe Mall, at the parking lot along Abercorn Street.

Touch-a-Truck

A variety of exciting trucks will be available at the event for kids to climb, touch and explore! A selection of the types of trucks that will be on-site at the event include an ambulance, a fire truck, an 18-wheeler, police vehicles, a military vehicle, a forklift, a scissor lift and more—including food trucks to be enjoyed by both kids and adults alike.

A quiet hour will be held from 10 a.m.–11 a.m. during the event for individuals with sensitivities to loud noises.

Tickets for Touch-a-Truck are $5 each, or $20 for a pack of five tickets. Kids under three are free. Tickets can be purchased online at jrleaguesav.org/touch-a-truck. Tickets will also be available for purchase on-site at the event.

Duck Pluck

The Junior League of Savannah’s Duck Pluck fundraising event encourages participants to adopt a rubber duck and, if their lucky duck is selected, they will win one of several prize offerings. These prizes include:

  • A two-night stay at Disney Resort with two park passes
  • A two-night stay in Edisto Beach with a VISA gift card
  • Two bronze-level Savannah Film Festival 2022 passes
  • And more!

Ducks can be adopted in a variety of quantities ranging from $5–$100. A limited number of ducks will be available for adoption, so purchases are encouraged in advance of the event before they sell out. For more information and to adopt ducks, visit duckrace.com/savannah.

“We are very excited to welcome the community back to our Touch-a-Truck event after a yearlong break and to our Duck Pluck event, which is in person for the first time,” said Junior League of Savannah 2021–2022 President, Rebecca Strawn. “Come out with the family for a fun time climbing on and exploring vehicles, and adopt some rubber ducks for the chance to win great prizes for a meaningful cause.”

All proceeds from both Touch-a-Truck ticket sales and Duck Pluck adoption fees will go toward the Junior League of Savannah’s community impact projects focusing on youth development in the greater Savannah and Lowcountry areas.
