SAVANNAH, GA (March 25, 2026) — On April 1, Coastal Children’s Advocacy Center (CCAC) will recognize the start of National Child Abuse Prevention Month with its annual blue ribbon tying volunteer event in Forsyth Park.
Child Abuse Prevention Month is observed every April in the United States to raise awareness and highlight the importance of families and communities working together to recognize and prevent child abuse and neglect.
On Wednesday, April 1 at 9 a.m. in Forsyth Park, the Savannah community is invited to help CCAC staff and board members tie blue ribbons, a symbol of child abuse prevention, around Forsyth Park’s historic oak trees to bring public awareness to Child Abuse Prevention Month. Volunteers should meet in the parking lot by the tennis courts at the southern end of the park.
“Each year, CCAC invites volunteers to join us for this annual tradition,” said Executive Director Rose Grant-Robinson, CCAC. “The blue ribbons in Forsyth Park serve as an important reminder to our community that we must educate ourselves to recognize the signs of child abuse. With knowledge and compassion, we can all be more effective advocates for local kids.”
